Ways to Engage in 2021

Monthly Themes

  • June: 30 Days of Habitat: Habitat for Humanity and Homeownership

Join the June Habitat 500 challenge to get better connected with why you Ride: Habitat for Humanity! During the month of June, connect with Habitat in at least 5 ways to be entered in a prize drawing! Email habitat500@hfhmn.org with your list of connections by July 2, 2021 to be entered in the drawing.

    • What kind of connections? Sign up to make lunch for or volunteer on a build site for your local Habitat. Volunteer at your local ReStore. Share a Habitat 500 post or your local Habitat’s post on social media. Create your own post about why you’re riding for affordable homeownership. Use our new Facebook frame. Donate items to your local ReStore. Share why home is important to you on social media or in our Facebook or Strava groups. Take action with your local senator or representative by asking them to support homeownership. Share our Teams recruitment blog. Other ideas? Great! Make this challenge your own!

Bingo Cards

Download the bingo card here:

We’ll ask throughout the end of the week at our programs who’s been able to get a bingo or, better yet, a blackout (all squares covered)! A blackout bingo will get you entered into a drawing for bike merch!

Roadside Attractions

A virtual bike ride has all of our riders exploring new routes! Need some fresh ideas on where to go? Try finding one of these roadside attractions in your state or a neighboring one!

Hammy the Hammer

Sometimes we all need a riding buddy: meet Hammy!

In a typical year, our hammer friend is busy traveling around to different Minnesota build sites, but this year he’s tagging along for the Ride! He’s being sent out to all of the Habitat 500 Riders in their ride packets to explore the world. Lose your copy of Hammy? Get another one here!

Organizing a group ride? Let us know and we can share your contact information with others in your area.

Please note—there are no “official” Habitat 500 rides or in-person events this year. All rides, in groups or solo, are at the discretion of each individual. We ask you to follow all state and local health guidelines for cycling and group activities.
